Great Night at St. Martin’s

On July 11th I was honored to appear at St. Martin’s Church in Ballwin, Missouri. Members of the Social Justice Committees of 5 St. Louis Churches made Black Hearts White Minds their summer reading selection, and we had lively discussions about racism in 1964 and today.  Dinner was fabulous, I signed books and several people told stories of how their lives mirrored many of the experiences they read about in Black Hearts White Minds. Thanks to the St. Martin’s Social Justice Committee for hosting the event and a special thanks to Mary Drastal who put the whole evening together flawlessly, with grace and charm.
